The momentum of change certainly increased in 2016 and is set to continue, making it important for all of us to keep pace.

Irrespective of the direction of policy and regulation it is clear that clean, reliable and affordable energy is a given and that advances in technology will not only make it increasingly attainable but also economically viable.

In many respects, that creates the need for us all to be "futurists" – well-informed, engaged in looking ahead, and prepared to be innovative.
